112 Illegally Staying Foreigners Held in KP

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police held 112 Afghans illegally residing in various localities during different crackdowns and moved them to holding centers established for repatriation to their home country.

As per a report from the Home Department, unlawfully residing foreigners will be repatriated following the completion of legal procedures and screening. The report indicates that 993 individuals have been sent back after their apprehension.

A total of 2,668 Afghan citizens returned to Afghanistan through Torkham, comprising 729 men, 652 women, and 1,175 children from 560 families.

The cumulative figures show that, to date, 231,452 Afghans, including 21,562 families, have returned via Torkham, with additional returns of 3,365 individuals through Anguar Adda and 419 via Kharlachi.

The Home Department disclosed that the total number of individuals voluntarily returning through these three provinces’ routes has now reached 235,237. —APP
