ISLAMABAD: The 15th death anniversary of renowned film director Pervaiz Malik is being observed today (Monday).
Born in 1937 in Karachi, Pervez Malik cultivated a certain type of cinema in Pakistan that remains unparalleled. The seasoned filmmaker Pervaiz Malik died of cardiac arrest in Islamabad on November 18, 2008.
He directed more than twenty films, including notable works such as “Heera Aur Pathar”, “Ehsaan”, “Doraha”, “Meherbani”, and “Qurbani,” along with the timeless blockbuster “Armaan”.
He was the first qualified film director in the country to have a foreign degree. His cinematic prowess spoke volumes earning him the President’s Pride of Performance award for his directorial contributions.
