17 Killed in Rain-Related Incidents in KP: Officials

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has said that 17 people were killed and 23 wounded in widespread rains over the last three days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

In addition to the human loss, 116 houses have been damage, with 100 partially and 16 completely destroyed due to the rain in the province. 148 cattle were also lost in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The affected areas spanned Bajaur, Swat, Mansehra, Battagram, Dir Lower, Malakand, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Orakzai, Shangla, Dir Upper, Buner, Lower Chitral, Nowshera, Mohmand, and North Waziristan.

Relief efforts were also swiftly initiated, with district administrations and relief teams mobilized to assist the affected people in the province. Restoration work on damaged roads commenced promptly, and PDMA instructed the district administrations to expedite financial aid to the victims.
