JEDDAH: 34,879 people including women and children have been killed by Israeli forces since October 7, 2023 in Gaza, the OIC Media Observatory said.

According to the OIC Media Observatory of Israel’s Crimes against the Palestinian people, 343 people fell as martyrs between 23 and 29 April 2024. Five martyrs fell in the West Bank and the others in Gaza.  Around 576 Palestinians were wounded in Gaza and the West Bank. The number of martyrs since October 7 until now has reached around 34,879. A Wall Street Journal report, revealed that the number of Palestinian martyrs in the Israeli aggression on Gaza announced by the Palestinian Ministry of Health is much less than reality, with health authorities not having the capacity to count all martyrs, and with hospitals and emergency services barely working.

On April 23, the World Food Program hinted that famine could hit Gaza in 6 weeks, with half of the Strip’s population are suffering from hunger, amid the continued Israeli threat to attack the city of Rafah which is also overcrowded with displaced persons.

On the other hand, Pehr Lodhammar, former United Nations Mine Action Service head for Iraq, said that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip “left 37 million tons of debris,” that 65 percent of the devastated compounds in Gaza were residential, and that “clearing rubble from Gaza could take 14 years of work.”

With regard to the Israeli strikes on mosques, there were daily incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with blatant violations having occurred during the so-called “Jewish Passover”. 15 Jewish rabbis asked the Israeli government to permit them to carry out slaughters inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, the OIC Media Observatory said.  At the same time, young Palestinians stopped extremist Jews from bringing goats into the courtyard of the Mosque to slaughter them for their “Passover sacrifice”.

In the city of Al-Khalil, the occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to Palestinians and stopped them from praying there for two days under the pretext of enabling settlers to perform Talmudic rituals inside the Mosque in celebration of the “Jewish Passover”, the statement said.

Settlers perpetrated more than 39 attacks on Palestinian villages and towns, including land leveling operations in Jenin and Nablus, the confiscation of three bulldozers and a motorcycle in Salfit and Tulkarm, and many other violations that reached, during the aforementioned week, 1701.
