KABUL: The trilateral talks among Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan has started in Kabul on Friday.

In a message posted by Afghanistan Ministry of Industry and Trade on its social media platform X on Friday, the initiation of trilateral discussions in Kabul involving representatives from the Taliban, the Republic of Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, specific details regarding the start of these discussions have yet to be disclosed.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan also announced the arrival of trade delegations from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in Kabul, aimed at facilitating and boosting transit, commerce, and mutual investments.

Among the objectives of this visit are the strengthening and broadening of bilateral relations, the organization of the Afghan-Kazakh exhibition, and a trade communication conference.

The Kazakh delegation, headed by Serik Zhalmaganarin, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, along with the Turkmen trade delegation, arrived in Kabul last Wednesday and Thursday for dialogues with Taliban representatives in Afghanistan.

Amidst a pressing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, reports indicate that more than 20 million people in the country urgently require assistance. The situation is dire, marked by widespread poverty, food insecurity, and a lack of access to basic necessities for the Afghan populace.

Compounding the severity of the crisis is the large-scale deportation of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries like Turkey, Pakistan, and Iran. These deportations have exacerbated the humanitarian emergency in Afghanistan, straining already limited resources and infrastructure.

Moreover, within the challenging circumstances, Afghan women encounter additional hurdles as restrictions on their employment worsen the humanitarian crisis. With limited opportunities for women to participate in the workforce, families are grappling to meet their fundamental needs, deepening the crisis nationwide.
