Afghanistan’s Deputy PM Invited to Russia for International Meeting

KABUL: Russian ambassador in Kabul, Dmitry Zhirnov, on Sunday invited Afghanistan’s political deputy prime minister Mawlawi Abdul Kabir to participate in an international meeting that is expected to be held in Kazan city, Tatarstan.

A statement released by the office of the deputy prime minister in Kabul confirmed that during his meeting with the Russian ambassador, Kabir expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the importance of the friendly relations between Russia and Afghanistan. Kabir highlighted the potential for Russian businesses to invest in Afghanistan, underscoring the mutually beneficial nature of the bilateral ties between Moscow and Kabul.

The deputy prime minister emphasized that strengthened relations between the two countries could contribute significantly to the development and stability of the region. He underscored the positive impact that cooperation between Russia and Afghanistan could have on fostering stability and promoting economic growth in the region.

In response, Ambassador Zhirnov affirmed Russia’s willingness to collaborate with Afghanistan across various sectors and expressed a desire to enhance bilateral relations further. He emphasized Russia’s readiness to engage in cooperation with Afghanistan and reiterated the importance of fostering increased interaction between the Islamic Emirate and Russia to bolster stability and economic prosperity in the region.
