ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is hosting a three-day international conference on “Ijtihad Bil-Maqasid” from May 22 to May 24.
This conference is being arranged by the Department of Islamic Thought, History, and Culture, Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies, AIOU.
Several national and international religious scholars and academicians will present papers on the significance, scope, and objectives of Ijtihad during the conference.
Prof. Dr. Mohyuddin Hashmi, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies, said that such events are urgently needed to promote unity, end extremism, and foster brotherhood among Islamic nations.
Conference a Part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations
Vice Chancellor of AIOU Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood emphasized organising an international conference on this topic and said that the university planned this conference in May which will also be a part of the ongoing Golden Jubilee celebrations of AIOU.
