ISLAMABAD: The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on job is becoming phenomenal day by day and could reach up to 65% by 2030, says a report by LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional social media network.

Over the past year, AI has dominated both cultural and business conversations, with LinkedIn noting a 70% increase in discussions related to the topic. Terms such as “ChatGPT,” “Prompt Engineering,” “Prompt Crafting,” “Microsoft Copilot,” and “Generative Artificial Intelligence” have seen a significant uptick in mentions on member profiles globally.

The report highlights a positive outlook towards Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI), with 74% of executives expressing confidence in its ability to benefit employees. Moreover, 47% of professionals globally believe that AI will enhance their career prospects by providing faster access to knowledge and insights.

Furthermore, companies are actively investing in AI talent, evident in the double-digit growth of the number of companies creating a “Head of AI” position since December 2022.

LinkedIn’s research suggests that more than half of its members have jobs that could be impacted by AI, with skills requirements potentially shifting by up to 65% by 2030. Professionals with advanced degrees, Gen Z, and women may experience faster changes in their job roles.
