ISLAMABAD: Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Privatization & Board of Investment, and Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Federal Minister for Power & Works, held a detailed meeting on Friday to discuss the privatization of DISCOs.
They decided to accelerate the process of privatization. They also agreed to expedite the pace of handing over the projects of Ministry of Energy to the private sector.
Instructions for privatization process
Both ministers gave instructions to the relevant departments to finalize the process of privatization as soon as possible. Abdul Aleem Khan assured all possible cooperation from his department in this regard.
It was decided that a meeting of concerned sections would be convened soon for the privatization of different projects of DISCOs and IPPs so that the pace of work in this regard can be reviewed and the task could be accomplished as soon as possible.
