TASHKENT: The executive authorities of Uzbekistan are set to relocate to the territory of New Tashkent city, as per a presidential decree aimed at reducing state involvement in the economy.

Within three months, the coordination council for the construction of New Tashkent, led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, will develop proposals for moving the executive authorities to the new city. The funds obtained from the sale of their current administrative buildings will be directed toward the construction of new administrative facilities.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that the transition to New Tashkent will be gradual, with hotels, service, and trade facilities opening on the site of the existing buildings. The new city is situated in the eastern part of Tashkent, within the New Uzbekistan Park area.
