Ambassador Munir Akram Meets UN Peacekeeping Chief

UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Munir Akram, held a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, covering various peacekeeping matters.

A press release from the Pakistan Mission highlighted that the meeting delved into “important matters concerning Pakistan’s current and future peacekeeping endeavors.”

Undersecretary-General Lacroix commended Pakistan’s pivotal role as a leading troop-contributing country to UN peacekeeping, acknowledging it as a cornerstone of the organization’s activities worldwide.

Since the 1960s, Pakistan has made significant contributions, deploying over 200,000 troops across 43 UN peacekeeping missions globally. In its unwavering commitment to the cause of peace, Pakistan has endured the loss of 171 brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to global peacekeeping efforts.
