ANF Recovers 224 Kg of Ice Across Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) announced the interception of the largest methamphetamine Ice shipment in the nation’s history, destined for smuggling abroad, as per a spokesperson at the ANF Headquarters on Thursday.

He revealed that 224 kg of Ice, concealed within shipments purportedly containing soap stones from Afghanistan, was en route to Belgium.

The drugs initially passed through Torkham, Afghanistan, before reaching Karachi, intended for further transit to Belgium. Methamphetamine Ice was ingeniously hidden within the roofs and doors of five containers. ANF successfully apprehended all the containers utilized for smuggling at Karachi port. Additionally, three suspects involved in dispatching the containers, two of whom hailed from Afghanistan, were arrested.

The detained suspects were attempting to flee to Afghanistan from the Torkham border. The ANF reiterated its dedication to combating drug trafficking and safeguarding the global community from the detrimental consequences of narcotics.   —APP
