ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is a country with a rich musical history producing music icons like Noor Jehan, Mehdi Hassan, Ahmed Rushdi, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and more and it seems the younger generation is no different as they make their mark in the all changing music industry.

One such emerging artist is Annural Khalid, who has been named Pakistan’s first female RADAR Artist for 2024 by music streaming platform Spotify, with the platform’s mini-documentary shedding light on the singer’s journey as a musician.

RADAR Pakistan, part of Spotify’s Global Emerging Artist Programme, is dedicated to identifying and elevating promising musical talent from across Pakistan and providing them with a platform to connect with audiences around the world.

Khalid’s success comes as he celebrates the release of his debut album, which showcases his unique blend of cool pop and rhythm and blues (R&B).

“Spotify RADAR is definitely a huge thing for me. I feel like I can share my story with an even bigger audience and it’s so good to know that people can relate who I really am as a person to how they perceive me as an artist, ” said the enthusiastic singer in response to the news.

“I think that’s something I’ve been trying to do for a while now and with RADAR […] I get insight into what my listeners vibrate with, what sound resonates with people more, it just helps me get to know my audience better,” she said he added.

The development is a testament to Annural Khalid’s talent and determination as she was also previously appointed as Spotify’s EQUAL Pakistan ambassador in July 2023.

The singer, who started her career as early as 2020, has succeeded in producing hits like Kehdena, Mujhe Leh Chal, Dil de Bol, Pretty Lies and Sohneya Ve.
