SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the Indian government continued unlawful detentions of Hurriyat leaders and activists under false charges in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, an APHC spokesperson stated in Srinagar that the RSS-backed Hindutva government of India is targeting Hurriyat members, including women, with severe political reprisal for their rightful political beliefs and stance on the Kashmir dispute.

The spokesperson emphasized that these detainees, apprehended by India’s notorious agencies such as the National Investigation Agency (NIA) over recent years and currently held in Indian and IIOJK jails, including New Delhi’s Tihar Jail, are falsely implicated in fabricated cases.

Highlighting that all detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists are political prisoners, the spokesperson stressed the responsibility of the United Nations and international human rights organizations to address the dire situation of these detainees.

The spokesperson reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, and lasting peace and stability in the region hinge upon resolving the dispute in alignment with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Furthermore, the APHC spokesperson underscored the unwavering determination of the Kashmiri people to continue their struggle for freedom and the legacy of their martyrs, despite enduring severe Indian state terrorism.
