ISLAMABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC-AJK) has expressed its deep appreciation for the unwavering support provided by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to the cause of Kashmir.
In a statement released in Islamabad, APHC-AJK Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar lauded the OIC for its recent comprehensive declaration. This declaration emphasized the urgent need to resolve long-standing disputes, including those in Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
Saghar particularly commended the OIC’s strong stance on the Palestinian issue. He highlighted the organization’s call for an immediate end to the Israeli “genocide” of the Palestinian people and its expression of solidarity with both Palestinians and Kashmiris during these challenging times.
The APHC-AJK leader went on to emphasize the significance of the OIC’s declaration for the people of Kashmir. He noted that the reaffirmation of political, moral, and diplomatic support, along with the call for the UN Security Council to take concrete steps to implement its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir, has greatly bolstered the morale of those living under Indian occupation.
Saghar wasn’t alone in his praise. Fellow APHC-AJK leader Altaf Hussain Wani also expressed his gratitude to the OIC for its continued backing of the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for self-determination. He applauded the organization’s clear and decisive stance on the issues of Palestine and Kashmir as addressed at the recent summit held in Banjul, Gambia.
