SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has accused India of persistently violating international laws, employing oppressive measures such as arbitrary arrests, summonses to military camps, police stations, and investigation agencies’ headquarters in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, a spokesperson for the All Parties Hurriyat Conference said in a statement that India’s purported promotion of peace in the region serves as a cover for its alleged crimes against humanity. The statement expressed dismay at the international community’s silence regarding the revocation of Kashmir’s special status, deemed a blatant violation of international laws.

The spokesperson criticized the Hindutva BJP regime for granting domicile to non-Kashmiris, including Indian troops, and claimed that this action deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their rights guaranteed under the UN Charter.

In a separate statement in Jammu, APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum Advocate Divender Singh Behal highlighted the severe human rights violations by Indian occupation forces, stating that one million troops have turned occupied Jammu and Kashmir into an open-air prison. He criticized the saffronization of government institutions, especially security forces, by the Hindutva Indian government.

Indian Biased Judiciary in IIOJK Cases

Behal accused the Indian corporate media of distorting the reality in Kashmir, labeling every extrajudicially killed Kashmiri as a terrorist while projecting an illusion of peace and development to the outside world. He lamented that local media is restricted from reporting the true ground situation, preventing outsiders from understanding the actual events.

Moreover, he criticized the biased judicial system for causing unnecessary delays in hearing cases of individuals held on fabricated charges for years, asserting that it has failed to provide relief to the people.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Party strongly condemned the killing of three civilians in the custody of the Indian army in Poonch district. The party stated that New Delhi, disturbed by the strong resistance of pro-freedom activists, has started targeting innocent Kashmiris in the region.
