CUPERTINO, United States: American technology company, Apple on Tuesday finally unveiled new iPads at a special event.

The iPhone maker revealed the new gadgets at its Let Loose event, with Apple chief Tim Cook terming it the “biggest day for iPad since its introduction.

The new iPad unveiling has ended a 559-day wait for new models.

“There’s no other device like it. iPad is powerful, portable, and incredibly versatile,” Cook told Apple fans during the event.

The new iPad Pro comes in two different screen sizes, 13 inches and 11 inches. The gadgets have been launched with major upgrades.  The new iPad variants have OLED panels that can reach 1,000 nits of brightness for HDR content, and 1,600 nits at peak brightness.

Apple has been using OLED screens on iPhones for years, but this is the first time it is using the technology in iPad models.

A normal LED-backlit LCD display has a backlight to illuminate the pixels that can be seen on a screen. However, an OLED panel does the same function using a backlight.

The new technology not only saves battery life but enhances the contrast of the screen as well as the range of colors.

It helps users to watch content on the iPad with a much better experience and is a big boost for anyone doing serious editing work on their iPads.
