Arab League Calls Extraordinary Meeting on Israeli Crimes

CAIRO: The Arab League Council will convene an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday upon the request of the Palestinian State, chaired by Mauritania and participated by permanent delegates.

The meeting will address the Arab response to the starvation crimes and genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against the people of Palestine.

Assistant Secretary of Arab League General Hossam Zaki on Tuesday stated that the session will focus on Arab and international actions in light of ongoing Israeli threats of imminent offensive on the city of Rafah.

He added that the city is currently housing to over 1.5 million Palestinians, displaced or inhabitants.

He further said that Israeli occupation’s rejection in implementing the UN Security Council resolutions, including the most recent Resolution, which demands an immediate ceasefire during Ramadan and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

Zaki also said that Israeli occupation has not complied with the provisional measures mandated by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
