JERUSALEM: In a major development, Israel has announced that the United States has granted approval for the sale of the Arrow 3 hypersonic missile defence system to Germany.
This historic military agreement marks the largest deal of its kind for Israel, valued at an impressive $3.5 billion. The Arrow 3 system, a cutting-edge interceptor designed to neutralize ballistic missiles outside Earth’s atmosphere, is the result of a joint collaboration between Israel and the United States.
Israel’s Ministry of Defense revealed that it received notification from the US State Department endorsing Germany’s acquisition of the Arrow 3 system. To solidify this significant accord, high-ranking officials from both the Israeli and German defence ministries are set to sign a letter of commitment. As part of the preliminary stages, Germany will make an initial payment of $600 million.
Distinguished for its extraordinary long-range interception capabilities at high altitudes, the Arrow 3 system stands out as a pinnacle in interceptor technology. Following these necessary endorsements, the final contract will be solidified.
