Unidentified armed men targeted a school van in Swat on Monday, killing the driver and injuring two students.
According to initial reports, the armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on the school van in the Char Bagh area of Swat, killing the driver, identified as, Hussain Ahmad, on the spot and injuring two students, whose identity could not be ascertained immediately. The injured students and the slain driver were shifted to a local hospital for treatment and medico-legal formalities.
Police said that the incident is being investigated. Swat and other areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkwa bordering Afghanistan have recently seen an uptick in terrorist attacks on security forces and civilians. Terrorists belonging various banned outfits operate from their hideouts from across the border.
