At Least Five Killed in Israeli Strikes in Rafah

RAFAH, Palestinian Territories: While the Israeli regime announced a major ground operation in Gaza, a local hospital announced that at least five people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

The Kuwait Hospital in this city announced that it had received “five martyrs and several wounded” in the night Israeli airstrike.

According to Palestinian security officials and witnesses, the area is currently under intense Israeli offensive activity.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the ground attack on Rafah “unacceptable”. In a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, he asked Israel and Hamas to take “another step forward” towards a ceasefire agreement.

He said this is an opportunity that cannot be missed. He added that the ground attack on Rafah will have devastating human consequences and lead to instability in the region.
