LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has declared the search warrant for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park “ineffective.” ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan delivered the reserved verdict on Khan’s plea, stating that one-time search warrants are not permanent.

During the proceedings, the Commissioner of Lahore, Deputy Commissioner of Lahore, and other officials appeared before ATC Judge Abhar Gull’s court. The former prime minister had approached Lahore’s anti-terrorism court, seeking the cancellation of the search warrant issued for his Zaman Park residence. Imran Khan listed the state, Lahore commissioner, DIG operations Lahore, SSP operations Lahore, and others as respondents in his petition.

Imran Khan Sees Malicious Intent Behind Search Warrant

In his plea, Imran Khan argued that law enforcement officials obtained the search warrant with malicious intent. He stated, “It is most respectfully prayed that the search warrant relating to the petitioner’s house situated at Zaman Park, Lahore, may kindly be set aside, as it lacks the requisite legal parameters for a valid warrant in the interest of justice and fair play.”

It is worth mentioning that the police obtained the search warrant for Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence from the ATC on May 18.
