RAWALPINDI: The recent incidents of terrorism in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are cowardly acts aimed at destabilizing internal security, stated the Pakistan Army media affairs wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement on Tuesday.

The terror incidents in Balochistan’s Gwadar and Turbat were successfully thwarted by security forces, while the latest incident in the Besham area of Shangla district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the loss of 6 innocent civilians, including 5 Chinese nationals, said the ISPR.

“The whole nation stands in solidarity with our Chinese brothers and unequivocally condemns this cowardly act,” read the statement.

ISPR emphasized that strategic projects and sensitive sites crucial for Pakistan’s economic progress and the well-being of its people are being targeted in a deliberate attempt to hinder development and create discord between Pakistan and its strategic allies, notably China. Certain foreign elements are actively involved in supporting and perpetrating terrorism in Pakistan, driven by their own selfish interests. Despite their attempts to appear innocent, these elements are consistently being exposed as sponsors of terror.

The statement read that such reprehensible acts of violence against innocent civilians, foreigners, and armed forces will not weaken the resolve of the Pakistani people, security forces, and partners to eradicate terrorism from the country. Pakistan, as a frontline state against terrorism, remains steadfast in confronting the international terrorist threat with unwavering determination and the full support of the state.

“With the resilient support of our nation and our strong ally China, we will ensure that all those involved in aiding terrorism, whether directly or indirectly, are held accountable for their actions. Together, we will overcome adversity and triumph over evil,” concluded the statement.
