DUBAI: After having a supreme bowling performance recently, including the one against Pakistan, Australian captain and bowler Pat Cummins was announced as the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for December 2023 by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday.

Earlier, Pat Cummins had a winning performance in the Test series against Pakistan in December, and demonstrated an all-round performance including captaincy and impactful bowling to take Australia to a test series against Pakistan, winning the maiden World Test Championship and the sixth Men’s Cricket World Cup crown earlier in the year.

In one of his striking performances, Cummins came in the side’s second Test victory over Pakistan in Melbourne, where he took ten wickets in the match, including taking wickets at the crunch moments.

His five for 48 in the second innings included the crucial wicket of a well-set Mohammed Rizwan, along with Agha Salman, who broke the partnership and even took the game away from the opponent.

Pat Cummins Performance for Australia

Pa Cummins’s recent performance for Australia bore results not only for him but also for the team. Due to his consistent performance, he is not only nominated for the top men’s award in the ICC Awards 2023 (the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy) but also a strong contender for a few other monthly and yearly awards as a leader and as a bowler.

On his recent ICC award, Pat Cummins said that it was a great year for the group across all formats, including a strong performance against a challenging Pakistan side. “Overall, we are very happy with the summer so far and looking forward to the series against Black Caps and West Indies, he said.”
