RIYADH: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and seek blessings during the holy month of Ramadan.
Azam, who is known for his devout faith, is expected to return home on March 30 after completing the pilgrimage.
Babar Azam taking rest from cricket
While Babar Azam is away, the Pakistan cricket team is struggling in their T20I series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Shadab Khan is currently leading the Pakistani side as Babar Azam is taking a rest from international cricket.
The team has lost the first two matches of the three-match series, prompting selectors to include some experienced players in the squad.
