LAHORE: Pakistan’s national cricket team captain Babar Azam has expressed hope that the Green Shirts would win the T20 World Cup 2024 being played in the US and the West Indies next month. He expressed these remarks during a press conference in Lahore. He said, “Our focus has always been on clinching the trophy, and I am confident we’ll bring it home”.  The skipper was sure that every player of the team would give his 100 percent in the mega event. He said that every player is focused on winning.  Babar Azam said that all the players are completely fit. Responding to a question, he said that Haris Rauf is better and improving with each passing day.

Babar Azam said that the team combination is very good and every player is training enthusiastically.  Responding to another question regarding Mohammad Haris, Babar Azam said that he could not perform well in the last season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He said that the players who performed better have been included in the national squad. In the top order, Fakhar, Rizwan, and Saim Ayub were performing better, so there was no room for Haris in top order.

Replying to a question, Babar Azam said that the Test match performance cannot be compared to the T20 format and they took decisions that are the best for the entire team. The team Pakistan is set to depart for the Ireland trip.
