Bahrain’s Crown Prince, US Secretary of State Discuss Developments in Gaza

LONDON: Crown Prince of Bahrain Salman bin Hamad and the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, on Monday discussed the latest developments in Gaza, along with other regional and international matters of mutual interest.

During their telephone conversation, the Bahraini Prince reviewed Bahrain-US ties, highlighting the importance of enhancing joint coordination to achieve common goals and interests.

During their discussion about the current situation in the Middle East, and the conflict in Gaza, the crown prince reiterated Bahrain’s firm position toward the Palestinian cause and its unwavering commitment to achieve lasting peace and fair solution in support of Palestinians’ right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also underscored the need to protect civilians and end violence in Gaza, which he said threatens regional stability and security.

According to the US State Department, both officials reinforced their commitment to prevent the spread of regional conflict. It said Blinken thanked Bahrain for its contributions to maritime security.

Spokesperson Matthew Miller added the two leaders also discussed ways in which partnership under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement continues to strengthen the bilateral partnership.
