Balochistan’s First Quetta Youth Festival Ignites Talent and Unity, Promoting Positive Engagement

QUETTA: The Balochistan Sports and Culture Department organized the first Quetta Youth Festival, a four-day extravaganza held from November 30 to December 3 in Quetta. The festival aimed to engage the province’s youth in positive endeavors, focusing on sports, education, and cultural activities to contribute to the overall development of the region.

With an emphasis on skill enhancement and positive engagement, the Youth Festival attracted a significant number of enthusiastic participants from various corners of Balochistan. The event marked a historic initiative by the provincial government, fostering a platform for the youth to showcase their talents and providing them with opportunities in education and sports at an international level.

The Thai Consul-General-designate in Karachi was a notable guest at the festival, expressing excitement about contributing to the development of high-level education and sports opportunities for the youth in Pakistan, especially in Balochistan. The administration emphasized that interactions with international delegations during the festival would boost the confidence and awareness of the youth.

Balochistan Govt’s Commitment to Nurturing Potential of Youth

Chief Guest Ali Mardan Domki, Chief Minister of Balochistan, and Nawabzada Jamal Khan Raisani, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, graced the occasion, highlighting the government’s commitment to nurturing the potential of the province’s youth. The festival saw a visit from a Thai delegation led by Associate Prof. Dr. Darunee, Vice President of Mae Fuh Luang University, along with Dr. Phitsanuruk Kanthawee and Dr. Nichan Singhapuaranga.

The delegation visited educational institutions such as the University of Balochistan, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), SBK Women University Quetta, and the CM Secretariat, gaining insights into Balochistan’s educational system and operations. The festival featured a diverse array of events, including an inaugural ceremony, panel discussions, laptop distributions, and a mesmerizing Qawali Night.

The primary objective of the festival was to build capacity in the young generation across various fields, fostering a sense of responsibility and contribution to the development of Balochistan. The success of the inaugural Youth Festival has set a positive precedent, providing a platform for youth empowerment, skill development, and cultural exchange in the province. As Balochistan looks forward, such initiatives are playing a crucial role in shaping the future of its youth and contributing to the overall progress of the region.
