JEDDAH: Thousands of Bangladeshi pilgrims embarking on the Hajj pilgrimage are expressing their heartfelt appreciation for the Makkah Route facilities, which have streamlined the immigration process and alleviated the burdens of traveling abroad.

Over 125,000 Bangladeshis are making the journey to Saudi Arabia this year for the pilgrimage, with many departing from the capital, Dhaka. The Saudi authorities have been working tirelessly since the start of the special Hajj flights last week as part of the Makkah Route initiative.

The Makkah Route program was launched by the Kingdom in 2019, aiming to assist pilgrims in fulfilling all visa, customs, and health requirements at their airport of origin, saving them from long hours of waiting before and upon arrival in Saudi Arabia. The program has garnered high praise from both domestic and international pilgrims, who are boarding their planes with comfort and smiles.

Saiful Islam, director of the Hajj Office in Dhaka, expressed satisfaction with the initiative, stating, “The pilgrims are enjoying the journey like a domestic flight. After landing in the Kingdom, they just board a bus and reach their hotel.” The efficiency of the Makkah Route program has left pilgrims amazed at the seamless travel experience it offers.

Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, a pilgrim who recently arrived in Jeddah, shared his experience, stating, “All my immigration formalities were completed at Dhaka airport before taking the flight to the holy land. It took only one minute to get things done. To me, it’s like a blessing.” Hossain expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Saudi authorities for providing this wonderful opportunity.

Other pilgrims, like Mohammed Solaiman, emphasized the sense of relief and peace of mind they experienced due to the comprehensive support provided. Solaiman highlighted the cordiality and assistance of officials throughout the pre-immigration process in Dhaka and upon arrival in the Kingdom, expressing gratitude for the dedicated efforts of hundreds of people working tirelessly to ensure a smooth journey for pilgrims.

The hospitality and care extended to the pilgrims from the moment of departure are also deeply appreciated. Latifa Begum, who initially had concerns about communication due to her limited English proficiency, shared her positive experience, stating, “Since landing in the Kingdom, everyone has treated us like distinguished guests. There is nothing that could be better than this.”

The Bangladeshi pilgrims are expressing their profound gratitude to the Kingdom’s authorities for offering such exceptional services and ensuring a seamless journey. The Makkah Route initiative has not only facilitated the pilgrimage but has also fostered a sense of peace, comfort, and spiritual focus among the pilgrims.
