LAHORE: Four alleged beggars were arrested by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle from Lahore airport.

These suspects were intercepted while en-route to Jeddah, purportedly under the guise of Umrah zaireen.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration authorities offloaded two men and two women, subsequently transferring them to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore.

It was revealed that these beggars had previously travelled to Iran, Iraq, and others for similar begging endeavours.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed that upon arriving in their destinations, they were supposed to be received by Pakistani agents.

An agreement was in place between the beggars and the travel agents, stipulating that half of the earnings from their begging activities would be handed over to the agents.

The FIA has initiated legal proceedings against both the beggars and their agents. The investigation is ongoing as authorities delve deeper into the matter.
