NEW YORK: Billie Eilish has broken her silence on recent comments regarding artists who release multiple versions of their albums, clarifying that her remarks were not specifically aimed at Taylor Swift.

In an interview with Billboard, Eilish expressed concerns about the environmental impact of producing various album editions, emphasizing the wastefulness of the practice. However, her comments sparked speculation on social media that she was indirectly criticizing Swift, who is known for releasing several versions of her albums.

Taking to Instagram Story to address the speculation, Eilish emphasized that her comments were not directed at any individual artist but rather at broader industry practices. She urged people to read the Billboard article to understand her perspective fully, stating that the issue at hand is an industry-wide systemic concern.

Eilish also highlighted her own participation in releasing album variants, acknowledging that she, too, is part of the industry practice she criticized. She concluded by emphasizing the urgency of addressing the climate crisis and the collective responsibility of everyone in the industry to do better.
