ISLAMABAD: Minister for Law and Justice Ahmed Irfan Aslam said on Thursday that Pakistan is observing ‘Black Day’ to protest against the unlawful occupation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In his message, the minister said that it also reminded the global community of its commitments under the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions that support the right to self-determination for Kashmiris.

He said that this day reminds us of the events of 1947 when Indian forces illegally entered and opened a chapter of oppression, imprisonment, and tyranny upon innocent Kashmiris.

He further said that India has been consistently violating the human rights of Kashmiris in the occupied valley.

He added that India is not only committing serious human rights violations but also enforcing oppressive laws to further its control over the valley and properties of the Kashmiri people.

The minister said that the international community should exert pressure on India to cease its grave human rights violations.

He emphasized the need for implementing the UN resolutions to resolve the issue of Kashmir.
