Bodies of Pakistani Nationals Killed in Iran Airlifted for Burial

ISLAMABAD: The bodies of nine Pakistani nationals, who fell victim to a terrorist attack in Iran’s Sistan-o-Baluchestan province on January 27, are currently being airlifted to Pakistan.

The Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed the repatriation, stating, “The mortal remains of nine Pakistani nationals, who were killed in a terrorist attack in Sistan-o-Baluchestan province of Iran on 27 January, are being airlifted Wednesday from Taftan border to Multan.”

Expressing condolences, the spokesperson added, “Praying for peace of the departed souls, our thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones.” The tragic incident prompted a strong condemnation from Pakistan, describing the attack as “horrifying and despicable.” The Pakistani government urged an immediate investigation into the incident and emphasized the importance of holding accountable those responsible for this heinous crime.

Pakistan, reiterating its steadfast commitment to combat terrorism, assured that all necessary measures were being taken to address the menace effectively. As the bodies are repatriated, the nation mourns the loss of these individuals and stands united against acts of terrorism.
