SEOUL: In a groundbreaking triumph, BTS member Jimin has secured the King of K-pop title at the next 2023 Melon Music Awards, planned for December 2 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, Yeonjongdo.
According to media reports, Jimin stands as the first soloist ever to claim this honour. Particularly, the achievement comes just ahead of the mandatory army enlistment for the popular group of South Korea.
Joining Jimin in the tributes are fellow BTS associates Jungkook and V, also known as Taehyung, who respectively clinched the Giant Pop Star and Idol of the Year prizes.

The Melon Music Awards revealed its Top ten artists on November 17, determined by user voting results, with the all BTS group and soloist Jungkook making the top list.

Jimin’s excellence is further admitted with a nomination for Album of the Year, and several other BTS members receive several nominations for the MMA.
The current year marks the 15th edition of the Melon Music Awards since its start, highlighting the enduring impact and success of BTS in the music industry worldwide.
