Cars’ Sale Drops 50pc During July-August in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The sale of cars during the first two months of the current fiscal year 2023-24 has dropped by 50.35% as compared to the same month of last year, recent data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association revealed.

According to the data, as many as 9,611 vehicles were sold during the months under review, in contrast to 19,358 units in the same months of last year.

The breakup figures revealed that seven hundred units of Honda Civic and City were sold during July-August 2023-24 in contrast to the sale of 3,844 units during July-August 2022-23.

Toyota Corolla and Yaris car sales also dropped by 52.83% to 2,186 units from 4,635 units in the previous year.

Suzuki Swift Cars’ Sale

Suzuki Swift’s sales also dropped by 11.48% as its sales went down to 755 units from 853 units last year.

Sale of Suzuki Cultus dropped to 482 units during the first two months of the ongoing year, whereas during the same months last year, the sale was registered at 1,072 units while the sale of Suzuki WagonR also went down to 604 units from 647 units last year.

Suzuki Alto’s sales also witnessed a sharp drop of 39.09% from 6,911 units to 4,209 units during the ongoing year, whereas the sales of Suzuki Bolan dropped to 312 units as opposed to sales of 580 units in the corresponding month of last year.
