ISLAMABAD: Dr. Sughra Sadaf, a renowned poet and writer, emphasized on Thursday the significance of Punjabi Culture Day in fostering the preservation and promotion of the Punjabi language and heritage. Speaking to PTV News Channel, she underscored the importance of actively engaging in cultural events to uphold Punjab’s rich traditions.

Dr. Sadaf highlighted the contributions of scholars in enlightening the masses about Punjabi language, culture, and literature, emphasizing its role in advancing philanthropic traditions and fostering unity, love, and respect among people.

She elaborated on Punjab’s vibrant culture, characterized by its festivals, cuisine, attire, and ancient landmarks, all reflecting a history spanning thousands of years. Dr. Sadaf emphasized the cultural richness inspired by revered Sufi figures such as Hazrat Ali Hajveri, Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar, and Sultan Bahu.

The observance of Punjabi Culture Day aims to promote love, brotherhood, and unity, echoing the essence of Punjab’s soil, which exudes affection, hospitality, and kindness, she noted.
