ISLAMABAD: While reacting to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s verdict against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, Pakistan Muslim Lengue-Nawaz Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that “Pakistan’s first certified liar and the certified thief” was disqualified with “irrefutable evidence”.

In her tweet, Maryam Nawaz said: “The first certified liar and certified thief who was disqualified with undeniable evidence of theft. The couple together looted the national treasury. The punishment for theft should not end in disqualification alone. He should be arrested and produced before the law and the looted money should be taken back.”

On the other hand, Minister of Finance Ishaq also tweeted about the ECP verdict stating “rest in peace”.

Earlier, the ECP disqualified Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference.

The four-member ECP bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja unanimously disqualified the PTI chief under Article 63(i)(iii). The verdict reserved earlier said that Imran Khan was found to be indulged in “corrupt practices”.

After the disqualification, Imran Khan stood disqualified as a member of the National Assembly for years.
