ASTANA: Chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan Zhanat Elimanov has been designated as the First Deputy Head of the National Security Committee, according to the Akorda.

President Kassym-Joomart Tokayev signed the corresponding decree, relieving Elimanov of his previous position. The position of First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee had been vacant for two years. It was briefly occupied by Murat Nurtleu, deputy head of Tokayev’s administration, during the January 2022 riots, local media reported.
