BEIJING: A Chinese company has officially handed over 160 high-end pure electric buses to Pakistan in a ceremony held at Suzhou Industrial Park, China. The officials from Pakistan, including General Manager Suzhou Higer, Qiu Yuanhong, Deputy General Manager Xie Jianghong, Customer Service Director Jiang Haifeng, and General Manager of Overseas Sales, attended the ceremony.
The value of the order exceeds RMB 150 million, marking the first time that Pakistan has introduced pure electric buses in such large quantities. This move is expected to contribute to Pakistan’s efforts in promoting green and low-carbon travel. Since its entry into the Pakistani market in 2006, Higer has continuously innovated its technology to meet local road traffic conditions.
The newly delivered pure electric buses offer advantages such as zero emissions, low operating costs, and minimal noise pollution. These features are expected to enhance the efficiency of public transportation operations and improve the overall quality of residents’ travel. The buses have a cruising range exceeding 250 kilometers and utilize advanced cathodic electrophoresis technology for corrosion resistance.
Equipped with an intelligent operation system called T-BOX, the buses can monitor driver behavior and vehicle operation data in real-time, ensuring operational safety and passenger well-being. This initiative aligns with the goals of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), contributing to the efficient and green development of public transportation in the region.
The delivery of 160 pure electric buses marks a new milestone, signaling a positive step towards promoting high-quality development in the field of public transportation under the CPEC and BRI frameworks.
