BEIJING: In a recent announcement, China’s National Meteorological Center has renewed a yellow alert, signaling the likelihood of heavy snowfall in several southern regions.

The warning covers the period from Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon and includes provinces such as Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangxi.

According to the meteorological forecast, these areas are expected to experience snowstorms ranging from 2 cm to 6 cm. Additionally, parts of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Guangxi may encounter freezing rain during the specified period.

In response to the weather advisory, the meteorological center has issued guidance for heightened vigilance among pedestrians and drivers. Local authorities have been urged to implement preventive measures, mainly maintaining roads, railways, and essential utilities.

China utilizes a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system, with yellow indicating significant weather conditions. As the affected regions prepare for potential disruptions, residents are advised to stay informed about updates and adhere to safety guidelines during adverse weather conditions.
