BEIJING: China’s national observatory issued a yellow alert for sandstorms in many places around the country from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday.
According to the National Meteorological Center, floating sand and dust are likely to impact some places in Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, Henan, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Hubei. The centre predicts sandstorms and even strong sandstorms in Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. The centre has advised the people to take precautions against floating sand and dust, to close doors and windows as soon as possible, and to wear facemasks.
