BEIJING: The spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense Senior Colonel Wu Qian said on Thursday that Zangnan has historically been Chinese territory, a fact that cannot be denied.

He was reacting to India’s defense ministry’s recent statement that dismissed China’s claim regarding Zangnan as “absurd,” affirming that “Arunachal Pradesh” is an integral part of India.

During a monthly briefing, China’s Defense Spokesperson Wu countered India’s assertions, questioning the origins of the term “Arunachal Pradesh.” He also criticized the US for its history of exacerbating disputes among other nations, which the international community perceives clearly.

The spokesperson emphasized the existence of mature mechanisms and communication channels between China and India for addressing border issues.

“Both sides possess the capability and willingness to resolve the boundary question through dialogue and consultations,” the spokesperson stated.

The US has also acknowledged “Arunachal Pradesh” as Indian territory and opposed any attempts to advance territorial claims across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) through military or civilian means.
