BEIJING: China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH) displayed a diverse range of agricultural machinery at the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE)-2023.

The exhibit featured self-propelled plant protection machines, potato harvesters, and sugarcane harvesters, drawing attention from various sectors. SINOMACH, a central enterprise group with extensive business chains and robust research and development capabilities, expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in machinery and technology.

Li, a SINOMACH researcher, highlighted the company’s early initiatives to broaden its global cooperation, with subsidiary YTO International Ltd exporting over 65,000 units of agricultural machinery to more than 90 countries. The company operates through five major business units, focusing on regions such as Russia, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, America, and Africa.

In terms of technical training, Li emphasized the contributions of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Science Group Co., Ltd (CAAMS), established in 1956. CAAMS has trained over 4,500 international students and implemented successful projects like the Teff Agricultural Machinery Small Mechanized Development Project in Ethiopia, addressing specific cultivation challenges.

Another exhibitor at CISCE, Xingjiang Tianye Water Saving Irrigation System Company Ltd, highlighted the significance of water-saving irrigation systems in agriculture. The company has promoted advanced agricultural machinery, including water and fertilizer integrated machines, plant nutrition detectors, and micrometeorographs globally. The under-mulch film drip irrigation system, developed by Tianye Group, is particularly relevant for countries like Pakistan facing water shortages.

Yang, a Tianye Group representative, emphasized the potential for collaboration in agricultural machinery between Xinjiang and Pakistan due to similar climate and water conditions. The under-mulch film drip irrigation technology has been successfully applied in Xinjiang for crops like wheat, rice, corn, cotton, tomatoes, grapes, melons, and red dates.

The CISCE exhibition underscored China’s commitment to sharing technological advancements and fostering collaboration in the agricultural sector, providing opportunities for countries like Pakistan to benefit from innovative solutions tailored to their specific needs.
