Chinese Officials Mourn Fellow Citizens Killed in Dasu Terror Attack

BEIJING: The members of a Chinese cross-departmental joint working group and Chinese diplomats in Pakistan have mourned the five Chinese citizens killed in Dasu terrorist attack, local media reported on Saturday.

Pakistani officials said that five Chinese citizens and one Pakistani were killed in an attack on the way to the Dasu Hydropower Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to CGTN, laying flowers beside their portraits, chief of the joint working group Bai Tian and Chinese envoy to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong led the personnel to stand in silence and bow three times.

Ma Mingwei, chief of a working group from Energy China and China Gezhouba Group Corporation, stated that the five compatriots were excellent representatives of the firm’s overseas projects and witnesses of China-Pakistan friendship.

Bai Tian, who is also head of the Department of External Security Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and Jiang conveyed the care and solicitude of the Chinese government to the firm’s workers, encouraging them to work jointly to overcome the issues.
