Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Meets Pakistan Army Chief, Expresses Satisfaction with CPEC Security

RAWALPINDI: Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, who is on an official visit to Pakistan, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ), said a statement issued by the Pakistan Army media affairs wing on Monday. 

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on initiatives to further strengthen bilateral defense cooperation. 

The ISPR statement said that the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister described Pakistan and China as all-weather strategic partners. He recognized Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and expressed China’s satisfaction with the security arrangements for CPEC projects.

In response, the Pakistan Army Chief thanked the visiting dignitary for his positive remarks. He highlighted that the relationship between Pakistan and China is built upon a shared vision of regional peace, stability, and prosperity for the citizens of both countries.
