‘CID’: Indian Actor Dinesh Phadnis on Ventilator Support After Heart Attack

MUMBAI, India: Dinesh Phadnis, best known for his portrayal of Inspector Fredericks in the popular India TV show ‘CID,’ has been hospitalised and is currently on ventilator support after he suffered a heart attack.

The actor who played Fredericks in ‘CID’ from 1998 to 2018 was rushed to Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital on Friday, and his critical condition has invited attention from fans and the community.

The news of the much-loved actor battling for his life was first reported by IWM Buzz, stating, “Dinesh Phadnis has been battling for life, with ventilator support.”

According to reports, the actor’s health condition has shown slight improvement compared to the critical state he was in on Friday night.

Phadnis played the character of Fredericks in ‘CID’ from 1998 to 2018, earning immense affection from the audience for his sweet and honest nature.

The entire crew and cast of the ‘CID’ were informed about Dinesh’s health condition Friday night, and many of them visited the hospital on Saturday to inquire about the actor’s well-being.

‘CID’, launched in 1997, stood out as one of the pioneering crime-based dramas on Indian television channels.

The show featured a group cast, including Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Ashwini Kalsekar, Janvi Chheda Gopalia, Hrishikesh Pandey, Ashutosh Gowariker, Shraddha Musale, and others.
