ISLAMABAD: Winter clothing sales have significantly increased in shopping malls, brands, and other markets as the winter chills envelop the nation and the temperature drops. Shop owners are profiting greatly due to the clothing’s high demand.
Many people, especially women, have been flocking to local bazaars and brand shops, eagerly looking for new winter clothing designs at discounted prices.
One retailer from a well-known brand shop mentioned, “Following a sluggish period for the sale of summer clothing, we are now experiencing a surge in demand for winter apparel.”
However, a customer showed concern about winter clothing prices, saying, “Winter clothes can be expensive, but they are a necessity for protecting ourselves and our families from the changing weather.”
Shopkeepers have also displayed the winter clothes in their shops to attract more customers. They said they have stocked various winter clothing items, including sweaters, long coats, gloves, and trousers. One shopkeeper stated, “During the winter, many customers come to purchase warm clothing.”
Another customer said, “The demand for warm clothes, shawls, sweaters, hoodies, and coats has soared since the weather turned chilly following the rain forecast.”
In response to customer demand, clothing brands have put summer clothes on clearance sales and offered wool blends, Khaddar, and other winter fabrics. They are also offering the leftover stock from last winter at huge discounts, attracting more and more people to markets and shopping malls.
Sellers of sweaters, jackets, and children’s caps in cities across the region are witnessing a significant increase in sales, with residents visiting major shopping destinations daily to purchase warm clothing and keep themselves cozy.
One resident of Islamabad city reported, “Our sales have doubled, and we anticipate further increases in the coming days,” according to another dealer. —APP
