SUKKUR: In a concerted effort to combat hoarding and smuggling activities, law enforcement agencies launched a crackdown against hoarders and smugglers and conducted raids across various districts of Sindh on Saturday. The operations targeted people involved in stockpiling essential commodities, with a particular focus on sugar hoarders.
During these operations, law enforcement agencies successfully seized substantial quantities of crucial items, which were subsequently handed over to the relevant government departments for proper disposal and distribution.
Crackdown Against Hoarders and Smugglers
During raids in Naushehro Feroz, a total of 43,983 bags of fertilizers (comprising urea and DAP) and 550 bags of sugar were confiscated. Meanwhile, during raids in Sukkur, law enforcement agencies apprehended 4,000 bags of urea. In Ghotki, a significant seizure of 23,000 bags of wheat was made.
The raids were part of a broader crackdown on illegal hoarding and smuggling activities, aimed at ensuring the fair and equitable distribution of essential goods to the public. Such initiatives play a vital role in maintaining stability in commodity prices and preventing artificial shortages.
