KARACHI: Pakistan Customs has seized smuggled goods worth around Rs 67 million and detained four accused during four raids in Karachi.
According to the officials, a huge quantity of foreign-origin dry fruits, almonds, cumin, etc. was recovered after anti-smuggling, on a tip-off, intercepted a container loaded on a truck on Karachi’s Superhighway.
The value of the seized items and vehicle is estimated to be Rs 34 million. Four persons were also arrested during the raid who have been remanded to Customs Intelligence for five days by the Customs Judge. Meanwhile, three other raids resulted in the seizure of cosmetics, fabric, crockery, and skimmed milk.
