Diana’s Family Christmas Cards, Personal Letters Auctioned in London

LONDON: More than a dozen Christmas cards of Princess Diana have been sold for thousands of dollars at a U.K. auction, Western media reported on Tuesday.

According to reports 14 Christmas cards, two personal letters and many photos sent to late fashion designer Bill Pashley from 1981 to 1994 sold for about $12,000 in Hansons Auctioneers’ Christmas Library sale.

Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers said the letters and cards demonstrated her caring spirit.

He added that Diana despite her busy royal life, took out time for those who helped her, Bill being one of those people.

Designer Bill created the iconic Balmoral honeymoon outfit she was pictured wearing in newspapers across the world.

Some of the most special royal collection includes holiday cards that Diana sent to friends before her death in 1997.

The first card Bill received from Diana in 1981 shows Prince Charles and Princess Diana as bride and groom on their wedding day.

Charles Hanson, added Bill every year, received a personally signed card from Diana.
